Last week we had a “team design meeting”.
Translation: The two of us chatting in the lounge room with coffee, cake and Double J radio :)
Anyway, during this session, we discovered the effectiveness of sketching ideas directly onto the material from which the item will ultimately be created. The drawings we realised could then be done to scale and give a more immediate visualisation of the overall product concept.
Appreciation of the timber grain pattern and warm colours of the material provides us with a more realistic glimpse of the end product – in contrast to sketching on a plain white page in a sketchbook.
And we’re saving paper! Bonus!!!
